They're one of Germany's most popular Christmas goodies: Printen. Aniseed, coriander, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and allspice - the secret's in the spices, and rock candy makes for the perfect bite. It all started as a hard honey cake that was pressed into a wooden mold. Today, the classic treat is rolled out and cut into pieces. Printen dough can be used to make a number of different varieties.
